8. Policies and Procedures
Infection Control
This is particularly more pertinent given our current
pandemic. We know everyone is still a little more anxious and
certainly more aware of cross infection. Firstly, please be
assured we take this very seriously and follow the guidance
laid out within:
• Infection and Prevention and Control in
Childcare
• Health Protection Scotland: Hygiene
Requirements in Outdoor Nurseries in Scotland.
• Scottish Government: Coronavirus (COVID-19):
fully outdoor childcare providers guidance
Outdoor Nurseries were the first childcare settings able to resume service as
lockdown eased following the pandemic. This was due to the low risk of infection
spreading within these settings.
Severe Weather
There may be occasion throughout the year that due to weather it is not safe to
stay in the woodlands. For example, in high winds or large snow fall. If it is deemed
unsafe, we will move to our playground in Broxburn.
This is a purpose build playground belonging to our sister company Broxburn
Family Centre. It has a log cabin with heating and toilets and a very large
playground. This will enable children to still play outside if they wish as there are
no trees in the park.
