Mid Valley Times
One of the summer's busi- est weekends for activities and events takes place this weekend with the Fourth of July festivities in cities in the region.
Dinuba, Reedley and Sanger all have planned fire- works displays scheduled for this weekend, returning the tradition that was halted last summer because of the CO- VID-19 pandemic.
The fireworks events begin on Friday, July 2. The Great- er Reedley Chamber of Com- merce hosts the city's second "Alive After 5" shopping event in downtown Reedley, sched- uled for the first Friday of each month through October.

The money for the Olson sewer replacement was part of $100 million in Valley-wide funding requested by Hurtado as part of the State Water Re- siliency Act of 2021.
Nicole Zieba, Reedley city manager, called the funding a "huge win" for the city.
"We are so grateful to Sena- tor Hurtado for carrying this request forward in the state budget and really fighting to ensure that we were awarded this funding," Zieba said in an email. "The project is a criti- cally needed one, as this is the line that had over 200 feet
