Several city commission seats open up
Dinuba Planning Commission only one of four commissions to be fully seated
council members approved three reappointments to the Dinuba Planning Commission, giving Sergio Alvarado, Albert Cendejas and Estevan Benavides each an additional three-year term. With the reappointments of the commissioners, the Dinuba Planning Commission will be fully seated going into the new year.
Said Barkely of the fully seated commission, “The Planning Commission, thankfully, is always full.”
That cannot be said, however, about the city of Dinuba’s Historic Preservation Commission, Public Safety Commission and Economic Development Commission.
Short three members currently is the Dinuba Historic Preservation Commission. The commission consists of seven members and recently secured two seats after the city council reappointed Maribel Sorensen and appointed
Joseph Garcia. The seats on the HPC also carry a three-year term.
A seat held most recently by former Dinuba Sentinel publisher Bob Raison remains vacant after Raison vacated the seat earlier this year for health reasons.
In addition, Barkley stated in her report that commissioners Joe Morgan and Jesus Pelayo both provided written confirmation that they did not intend to apply for reappointment at the end
