2.3. Database Management Tools

There are additional tools for managing databases under ‘Home’ > ‘Databases’.

2.3.1. Compress Database

IID databases can be large, particularly when they have data from multiple assets
collected over multiple years. If a database needs to be sent somewhere (perhaps to Iris
Power LP for an analysis report), it can be compressed before sending:
• Select ‘Compress Database’

• Browse to and select the IID to be compressed
• Browse to the location and select the name and type of the compressed file. IIDs
can be compressed into IIA or ZIP files.

2.3.2. Extract an Iris Database Archive
Extracting an Archive de-compresses an IID from an IIA or ZIP file:

• Select ‘Extract an Iris database archive’
• Browse to and select the IIA or ZIP file to be de-compressed.
• Browse to and select a location to put the de-compressed file.

IAM will now de-compress the selected file and open it.
