Configuring a Monitor
Figure 7-4 Remote I/O Output Settings
If there is no Remote I/O Unit, then there is no need to do anything on this page.
7.3. Modbus Settings
The Modbus configuration settings are where the Modbus is configured to collect the
Operating Condition data such as the asset’s operating power or temperature. While each
monitoring technology and monitor may have different Operating Conditions that it can read,
the setup is the same.
Note:
Operating Conditions are crucial to the full operation of some
monitoring technologies; without Operating Conditions they cannot
operate to their full capabilities. Refer to the User Manuals for the
continuous monitors for details.
Operating Conditions can be read from an existing Modbus over TCP/IP system or from
a Remote I/O Module purchased as an option from Iris Power LP.
• If the Operating Conditions are read from an existing Modbus system, then the
Modbus configuration details must be provided by the plant.
• If the Operating Conditions are read from a Remote I/O Module, then the Modbus
configuration details are defined by the exact assembly of the Remote I/O Module
and the translations of the analog signals.
