Configuring a Monitor
Figure 7-5 Sample ASIM/DSIM Settings
Press the ‘ASIM/DSIM’ button in the ribbon. To configure one of the Operating
Conditions, select the appropriate tab along the left side of the workspace, and then enter
the configuration data:
• Select the unit that the Operating Condition is reading; for example, Power can be
read in W, kW MW or hp. The Operating Condition can be disabled here as well.
• Enter the Ethernet information. The IP address is the address of either the Modbus
system or the address programmed into the Remote I/O Module. The default port
number and timeout values do not likely need to be changed.
• Enter the Modbus register settings. When interfacing to an existing Modbus system,
this is provided by the plant. When interfacing to a Remote I/O Module, the correct
settings are based on the Remote I/O Module assembly.
• Enter the translation formula that converts the value read from the Modbus register
address into a real-world value.
For the ambient temperature and humidity Operating Conditions, there is a checkbox to
indicate if they are being acquired from an ambient sensor connected directly to the monitor
instead of a Modbus source.
