Since a lot of people give both spontaneously and
emotionally, if they miss out on giving their financial
contribution on a particular Sunday, that money is gone
forever. They will continue to give when they return
to church, but they may not give retroactively. Leaders
understand that.
This is why many pastors were striving to prevent
loss of revenue. Unfortunately, loss of life within the
congregation is an incidental loss.
The Pastor’s Family Dynasty Is Not The Kingdom Of God—
When Jesus called and commissioned us to build His
church, the pastor’s personal family business empire was
not what He had in mind.
The modern church is big business these days. A lot
of preachers have become extremely wealthy from the
ministry. Many church leaders are millionaires, because
of the ministry. Private jets, yachts, exotic cars, mansions
are all a part of the family dynasty.
In my book THUG PREACHERS, I talk about how a lot
of pastors have set up their church or ministry as their
personal family business. In fact, the church is the only
private family business I know of, where the business’s
owner (the pastor) and his or her family enjoy all of the
lucrative benefits of absolute business ownership, at
someone else’s expense.
Here’s how it works. The pastor builds His own
empire of great wealth, but you the membership pay all of
the expenses and perform all of the work of building and
expanding these dynasties. Some churches exist for the
sole purpose of financially supporting the pastor and his
or her family.
