The main responsibility of the evangelist is to
win souls. His message is one of good news, hope and
salvation. Pastors usually preach from all over the Bible,
but the evangelist’s focus is strictly Kingdom Building;
nothing less.
Every day as I saw more and more reports of church
leaders and church members who had died from the
COVID come forth, I became concerned. I had begun
to wonder if all of these church-related deaths were
coincidental; and I’m sure some of them were.
The one thing I don’t want to do at this time is to
paint all of these church-related deaths with too broad
of a brush. I’m sure that there were some absolutely
wonderful brothers and sisters in the Lord who may
have gotten swept up in the death wave.
Churches have gotten away from the great work
that God has called us to. Real Kingdom Building is more
of a thing of the past for most churches. Today’s large
modern churches are nothing more than watering holes
for people who have come from local churches.
Let me give you an example of how this works.
Years ago, we had self-sustained communities. We had
whatever anyone needed. We had stores where we could
obtain shoes, furniture, clothing. We had theaters,
pharmacies, restaurants, medical and dental care… we
even had department stores. And, we had them all right
there in our neighborhoods… all within walking distance.
Then someone came up with the idea of building
a mall, where all of these businesses could be housed in
one space. Everything that I just named, could now be
found in the malls.
Neighborhood stores began to suffer as their “bread
and butter” customers started traveling to the big malls
to spend their money. This resulted in the vast majority
