about the number of people and the amount of money.
So they welcome members of other churches to join
their church.
Some of the world’s biggest and most famous
preachers have admittedly and deliberately made a
conscious decision to side-step preaching about sin,
hell, the devil and eternal damnation. They say, they
don’t want to offend or depress the members of their
enormous congregations.
As their church attendance and membership list
grow bigger and bigger, these leaders dupe the members
and (often themselves) into believing that they are
actively building God’s Kingdom. The congregation
confuses overflowing auditoriums with fishing for souls.
Church People Are Fishing In An Aquarium—
Jesus has called and appointed us to reaching out
to the lost everywhere. To the serious caretaker of truth,
the New Testament emphasizes Kingdom Building more
than any other directive from Jesus. He said if we follow
Him He would teach us to fish for lost souls.
“And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will
make you fishers of men.”
Matthew 4:19 (KJV)
Take note of how excited all of the members are
when they see people from other churches join their
church. They really think this is what Jesus was talking
about. They actually believe they are fulfilling the “Great
Commission!” They call this, adding to the church.
I’ve always said, “If you’re not fishing… you’re not
following!” What a lot of church folk are doing today is
moving people from one church to another. This isn’t
Kingdom Building at all. This is the same as fishing in
an aquarium.
