would avoid them. It can be dangerous to the church or
ministry to have infectious and contagious individuals in
positions of influence or authority.
Infected ministers, often find ways to destroy or
split the church. They tend to whisper about the pastor’s
shortcomings and the flaws in his individual ministry.
To them, his sermon is usually off point. They sometimes
create and circulate rumors about the pastor, where no
fault existed. They are never satisfied with the pastor’s
triumphs and accomplishments.
Sooner or later, the new convert or the new member
finds himself caught up in this whirlwind of church
discord. After a while, they begin to wonder if being in
the church is worth it. They may even start to believe
that there is no point in trying to live flawlessly for God,
since no one else seems to be doing it.
It is the responsibility of the church to make sure
that this does not happen! If a particular local church
is not qualified to help these people, that church owes
it to that person, to direct them to somewhere or
someone who can help them.
