\ What’s happening in the world…?
Did you know that…?
• In most countries in the world, the energy generation economy is based on the
use of fossil fuel.
• Many countries in the world are promoting solutions in the renewable energies
field.
• An increase in the demand for natural gas in Europe in 2021, particularly in
comparison with the relatively low demand in 2020 (the COVID19 pandemic)
resulted in a shortage in natural gas in gas storage facilities.
• China’s entry into the global competition over natural gas and the increase in its
demands for gas due to the increase in demand for electricity in the country.
• High electricity consumption due to hot weather in the United States is leading
to a reduction in natural gas reserves in the country.
• An increase in coal consumption in India at a rate of approximately 3% per year,
primarily for generating electricity, due to connecting rural areas to the grid.
