\ Interim goals
6.1 Potable fresh water at a reasonable price – forming universal, equal access
to safe drinking water at a price affordable for all.
6.2 Adequate, equal access to sanitation and hygiene with access to sanitation
services, education and accessibility of handwashing devices, including water
and soap
6.3 Improvement in water quality, sewage treatment – improvement in water
quality by reducing pollution, eliminating illegal littering and toxic, hazardous
waste. This goal is achieved by optimal and safe use of water for residential,
agricultural and industrial use and by establishing water recycling mechanisms
that provide good quality water.
6.4 Increasing the efficiency of water usage and ensuring a fresh and clean
water supply in all sectors and significant reduction of the number of people
suffering from a water shortage.
6.5 Combined application of water resources – joint operative water basins
management across borders shared with multiple countries.
6.6 Protection and restoration of water-related ecosystems, ecosystems such
as mountains, forests, swamps, rivers, aquifers and lakes. Aiming to improve the
global water ecosystem.
