Ideas for activities in the field – My Family and I

• Encouraging young girls in the family to take an interest in topics

typically considered ‘masculine’, such as mechanics, electronics,
science, etc.

• Joining in family volunteering endeavors designed to empower
disadvantaged women.

• Volunteering for “Parents Instruct” activities – presenting in schools
attended by children in the family sessions on women’s empowerment

and/or making gender-oriented topics accessible to all.

Ideas for activities in the field – My ICL Unit and I

• Critically examining the departments’/organizations’ gender-based
numbers in a range of areas.

• Voluntary departmental participation in associations and organizations
which reduce gender inequality and focus on empowering women.

• Fostering a group of disadvantaged women and urging them to further

their education and expand their job-related opportunities.

• Initiating a process of individual mentoring related to empowerment –
individually mentoring women interested in effecting change in their
lives, who still need guidance – a departmental activity to be conducted
individually on a “1 on 1” basis.
