Day 14 - God’s Peace Is Like No Other…
Scripture:
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts
and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7 NIV
Reflection:
When we speak about peace, there are so many different levels or interpretations.
The more I started to reflect on the word “peace,” the cloudier the definition
became in my mind. Being a mom, one of the most peaceful moments in my life
was holding my baby girl in my arms for the first time. It is one of the most
joyful, and blessed moments I ever had. It felt like time had stopped and I had
absolute peace for those few moments. Then there are other moments when we
feel like material things (money, jobs, significant others, or doing this or that)
are our peace. Only to find that we all are engulfed in this ride, called life.
Through happy moments as well as trials and tribulations, I am learning about
true peace. That is spending more time with my Heavenly Father, learning more
about the path He has for my journey called life, and learning to be more honest
and transparent with others and myself. When we put things in their respective
order, we learn to appreciate and cherish the other blessings He has bestowed
upon us (children, finance, significant other, blessing others, etc.). Every day I
am learning more that we do not have to function blindly under the assumption
that we have to have it all together in order to matter or feel important.
Remember God’s sovereignty. He has already seen our future, and He has every
single day laid out before Him (Psalms 139:16). Therefore, we do not have to
worry about our children, finances, or even our future. We can rest and have
peace, knowing He is already there. Make a decision today that you will live,
love, and soar, because your best days are still ahead of you!
Prayer:
ABBA, I surrender unto you my lack of understanding, peace, and every area of
my life that shows hesitation to Your will. Help me to quieten my heart so I can
hear Your voice telling me what to say, and what to do. Help me to thrive in the
fullness of life that You have prepared for me. Help me not to live or walk in
fear (false evidence that appears real) anymore. Help me to put my trust in You,
especially in moments when I strive to turn to myself.
Teach me how to Rest more in You. I thank you for loving us the way you do.
Thank you for the continuous protection over our lives. More, importantly, thank
you for your Son Jesus Christ. Without you we can do nothing, but with You we
can do all things. I give you all praise, honor, and glory…Amen!
