D. Curriculum Enrichment
The College of Computer Science designs, monitors, reviews and revises the
curriculum headed by the Dean, with the collaborative efforts of the faculty,
students, alumni committee and consultants in one of the faculty meetings. The
curriculum be drafted based on the latest CHED standards. The draft was then
finalized during the Academic Council meeting.
The President of the University calls for an Academic Council meeting to
comment and approve the reviewed and revised curriculum. Then, after the
approval of the Academic Council, the curriculum will be presented by the
President to the Board of Regents meeting for approval. If the curriculum is
approved, the said curriculum is implemented the following school year.
The CAR amalgamated curriculum added 30 units from the CHED required total
number of units which is 149 units. The said 30 units where distributed to
different courses like additional 11 units for General Education Courses, 3 units
were also added for the Basic ITE Core Courses, 9 Units were added for the ITE
professional Courses and additional 7 units for the OJT/Internship/Major
Courses. The said subjects were added to align the strengths of CAR SUC’s in
Business Communication in preparation for Business Processed Outsourcing
industry. Also putting premium on the industry like experience on the On-the-
Job Training or Internship subject for the students while giving students more
time to prepare for their Capstone Project.
While the release of CMO 25, series of 2015, the College were able to updated its
curriculum in 2018. The said curriculum added 39 units from the CHED
required total number of units which is 149 units. ITE Professional Courses were
increase to 66 units from the CHED required total of 33 units. 12 units were also
added for Special Tracks, 6 units were added for the additional math requirement
subjects for those non-STEM strand students that wish to enroll the BSIT
program and 15 units were also added for the Institutional Courses.
