ONE TO WATCH
The cricketing career of Flynn Nicholls (6G) has continued to go
from strength to strength throughout 2019, with this talented
young player gaining selection to play for CIS at the NSW Primary
Schools Sports Association (NSWPSSA) Championships.
It was a successful campaign for the CIS team, and the School
was soon celebrating the exciting news that Flynn had been
selected in the NSWPSSA team to compete at the Australian
Championships in Adelaide in Term 4.
There was yet more good news to come, as Flynn’s NSW Boys’
team finished a respectable third, after comfortably defeating
South Australia’s # 2 team. The NSW XI had a hard draw but
only lost two games against Queensland and Victoria, who both
ultimately reached the Grand Final.
Flynn was given an opportunity to bowl in each of the five games,
taking the equal highest number of wickets in the team, and he
was promoted to opener in the Final, making a solid 58 runs from
85 balls. At the end of play, Flynn was awarded the NSW Player of
the Championship.
