• Abietic acid prepared from the weak alcoholic solution of rosin has
       antibacterial, insecticidal, anti-dandruff and filmogenic properties
       (sprayed on burns and wounds).

   • Oil of turpentine has antiseptic and rubefacient activities.
Toxicity of oleoresin:

   • Fatal poisoning reported in children who have ingested as little as 15 ml.
