• Uses
Tincture myrrh
Approved by commision E for its antibacterial and astringent properties, it is a
component of variable dental remedies, minor skin inflammations.
• Gargle for mild inflammation of oral and pharyngeal mucosa.
• Mirazid ® contains myrrh used to control shistosomiasis.
Chemical test
Ether extract of myrrh (crushed with sand), filtered, evaporated to dryness in a
porcelain dish, add few drops of HNO3 gives purplish violet colour.
