Oleogum resins
1.Myrrh
It is the dried oleo-gum-resins obtained by incision or produced by
spontaneous exudation from the stem and branches of Commiphora
molmol Engler . f. Burseraceae.
• Oil of myrrh was used as one of several plant products in the process of
chemical treatment as an essential part of mummification process.
• Constituents Furano-sesquiterpene, sesquiterpene lactone
• Essential oil:
• Monoterpenes,
(commiferin) ,eugenol.
• Gum.
• Resin:
• α,β commiphoric acid.
