3. Olibanum (Frankincense)
It is the dried Oleo-gum resin obtained by incision from the bark of Boswellia
carteri.
Constituents
• Volatile oil
• Gum
• Boswellic acid (ursolic acid derivative)
Uses:
• Treatment of osteoarthritis.
• Boswellic acid has marked anti-inflammatory action and showed
antineoplastic effect.
