What Must Not Be Injected into the Column??
❑ Substances that are precipitated in the mobile phase.
❑ E.g. Suppose that you have the following:
✓ Mobile Phase: organic solvent.
✓ Sample: aqueous solution containing high concentration of
inorganic salts or proteins.
The sample may be precipitated immediately after being
mixed with the eluent.
How to solve this problem?!!
Check beforehand that precipitation 101
does not occur when sample
solution and eluent are mixed
