Water
• Tap/drinking/potable water is not normally used for the manufacture
of pharmaceutical solutions, as it contains dissolved substances
which could interfere with the formulation.
• Purified water is prepared by purification of tap water via distillation,
or reverse osmosis. It is used for the preparation of non-parenteral
solutions.
