Kashmiri Pandits. Gobind Rai Ji became the tenth Guru.

Hostility between the Sikhs and the Muslims increased following execution
of Guru Tegh Bahadur. His grandfather Guru Hargobind Ji had started the

tradition of Miri and Piri. Guru Gobind Singh Ji strengthened the concept

of self-defense and armed opposition to injustice. He created the Khalsa

Panth, the army of the Saint Soldiers to stand against the fanatic Mughal

rulers who did not let anyone live in peace. Guru Ji started organizing mock

battles for training the Sikhs in war strategy. His devoted Sikhs bought
horses and weapons and many other precious gifts to him.

Guru Ji had to fight thirteen wars against the Mughal Empire and the kings

of Siwalik Hills but all of the battles were for defense. He never started a

battle or held anyone captive or destroyed place of worship of other

             religions.
