breaking their promise of not attacking Guru Ji and his Sikhs. He

persecution and untruthfulness.
The Zafarnamah touched the heart of Emperor Aurungzeb who was

done to Guru Ji. He wanted to meet with such a brave Guru. Aurangzeb
sent a letter to the deputy governor of Lahore, Munim Khan, to make the

on 30 October 1706. On the way the news arrived of the death of the
Emperor. Guru Ji returned to Nanded. Guru Gobind Singh Ji lived at
Nanded. Here he met a Bairagi Madho Das, who became Banda Singh. Guru
Gobind Singh gave Banda Singh five arrows from his own quiver and an
escort, including five of his chosen Sikhs, and directed him to go to the
Punjab and carry on the campaign against the tyranny of the Mughals.
Banda Singh was very upset at the Shaheedi of the Chaar Sahibzaday.
In the meantime, Aurangzeb’s son Bahadur Shah became the new Emperor.
He invited Guru Ji to become his friend. Nawab Wazir Khan of Sirhind felt
concerned that Emperor Bahadur Shah was friends with Guru Gobind
Singh. He did not like this friendship. He hatched a plan to assassinate
