j - Farm de Janvar
"Baba Ditte Da Farm" is a fun and entertaining story for children, featuring a
variety of animals for them to learn about. Another j word introduced in this
lesson is ju`qIAW dw joVw (pair of shoes). This lesson provides a wonderful
opportunity to teach children about another form of seva at the Gurdwara Sahib
—joda seva.
A. The craft activity for j involves creating popsicle stick puppets representing
the different farm animals in the story. As a lively addition, students will come
together to sing the Baba Ditte Da Farm song using their puppets to bring the
story to life.
B. Take the students on a field trip to the Gurdwara Sahib, visiting areas where
the sangat deposits their shoes, whether in rows on the floor or on shoe
racks.
C. Teach the children proper etiquette for leaving shoes in the designated
location and maintaining an orderly arrangement. If you notice that the sangat
has not followed proper protocol, encourage the children to place the shoes
neatly in rows or on the provided shoe racks. Based on our experience,
students thoroughly enjoy participating in joda seva.
