The year was 1998, and Diane and Mark Musgrove, along with
Jim Fitzpatrick and Rita Rodriguez, decided that the beautiful town
of Alpine was in need of a quick stop for morning commuters. Many Photos Courtesy of Diane Musgrove
of the residents of Alpine spent every day driving to work in San
Diego. They knew there was a need, and they set out to open a con-
venient drive-through coffee shop to make Alpine residents experi-
ence a much more pleasant commute. It was a great idea then, and
25 years later, Caffé Adesso is still serving their community better
than ever.
Diane and Mark’s son, Joe Musgrove, a starting pitcher with the
San Diego Padres, made history on April 9th, 2021, when he threw
the first No hitter in the Padres’ then 52-year history. This added yet
another bit of notoriety to this neighborhood landmark. The cus-
tomers were so elated that when Caffé Adesso added a special line
of cookies honoring this accomplishment, the lines went around the
block with anxious customers eager to get their hands on these deli-
cious cookies, which quickly sold out every day.
Located at 1140 Tavern Road in Alpine, CA, they have gained
a loyal following who rave not only about their food and drinks but
also the incredible service from their delightful staff.
Caffé Adesso is open seven days a week from 5:00 am to 6:00 pm
on weekdays and from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm on weekends and is only
closed on major holidays.
Caffé Adesso carries a staff of 9 baristas who always greet each
customer with a smile and a variety of coffee, Italian sodas, and
espresso drinks using only the finest ingredients.
It is easy to see that beyond the incredible menu, they strive to
provide excellent customer service, making your day just a little bit
brighter.
Many of their customers, some of whom have been with them
as long as they have been open, have made their stop at Caffé Adesso
an everyday ritual and the favorite part of their day.
