               2.7.4 Structure of Presentation

                   • Topic: The student research project named above shall be presented as a paper on a

                       conference about welding technology.

                   • Title: “Burner-integrated suction when welding”

This title is clearer, shorter and better memorable than the title of the report, thus more attractive
               and still correct.

                   • Audience: Head of the institute (professor), supervisor, fellow students, a person working

in industry, a journalist, other participants with unknown technical background.

This audience has various knowledge levels, interests and expectations, which must be taken into

consideration skillfully. Nobody should be overstrained or bored!
For a presentation to be effective, it must be well organized and usually consists of three main

               parts:

                   ➢ Introduction:

In this part, the presenter introduces the topic and tries to attract the audience’s attention using

a question, a fact, or a short story.

                   ➢ Body:

This is the main part where the key ideas are explained in detail with examples and visual aids to

               support the information.

                   ➢ Conclusion:

In the final part, the presenter summarizes the main points and reinforces the key message, and

may invite questions from the audience
