Department devoted to developing policies, procedures and people-friendly guidelines and
support.

Human Resources Management System (HRMS)

A combination of systems and processes that connect human resource management and
information technology through HR software.

Human Resources Partner (HRP)

Liaison between Human Resources and the business.

Hyperion

Multidimensional analytical, reporting and planning applications; used at Biogen for close
and consolidation analysis, internal and external reporting, financial planning (including
AOP, forecasts and detailed planning)

Hyperion Cubes

Multidimensional database used for storing and reporting forecast and actuals data.

Hyperion Data Relationship Manager (DRM)

Manages the reference data used to support applications and analysis; a set of processes
and tools that consistently define and manage the non-transactional data entities of an
organization (also called reference data); manages the hierarchies of data in the Hyperion
cubes.

Hyperion Dimensions

Structural element of a Hyperion application that describes and holds data; reporting
members based on Oracle segments.

Hyperion Financial Data Warehouse (FDW)

The Hyperion Financial Data Warehouse (FDW) is a robust infrastructure that allows for
detailed analysis and reporting of corporate, strategic business unit and project-based
financial data. A database of information extracted from Oracle, Hyperion planning and the
DRM applications; data is extracted from the various systems, balanced, scrubbed, and
converted into a standardized, readily accessible format; data is pushed from the FDW to
the Hyperion Cubes.
