Team within Regulatory Affairs that compiles, publishes and dispatches agency compliant
paper and electronic submissions to bring new products to global markets.

Relapse-Remitting MS (RRMS)

Multiple Sclerosis with clear relapses with either full recovery or partial recovery & lasting
disability. Between attacks there is no progression of the disease

Remote Data Capture (RDC)

Software/portal that accommodates electronic entry of the clinical trial data.

Reported Dimension

The Reported Dimension provides the ability to view the financial data in “Operating” for
management reporting purposes as well as “Adjustments” made for external reporting.

Reporting Cubes

Actuals cubes that pull from Oracle – cannot write to these cubes. These cubes are used by
Corporate Accounting and for management reporting.

Request for Information (RFI)

Process used to collect information about a vendor or supplier.

Request for Investigational Product Shipment (RIPS)

Biogen Database used to authorize and place IMP shipments to sites or depots.

Request for Proposal (RFP)

A solicitation by a company interested in procurement of a commodity or service, to potential
suppliers to submit proposals.

Research & Development (R&D)

Department at Biogen that discovers and develops drug candidates.

Research & Development (R&D) Expenses

This is the part of its income a company is re-investing in the business to find and develop
new products. It's an indication of how much management values innovation. Look at
whether it is increasing or decreasing from year to year.
