“Be Prepared “was an insurance lecture, which examined the practice of living a safe and worry-free
life. It was presented by Miss Wu Yuyi (巫玉儀) and saw over 20 people attending this lecture.

The Mid-Autumn Festival party had over 90 people come from GFCBWA’s members and family.
They spent an evening on a cruise eating moon cakes and pomelos and relishing the beautiful
moon. There was praying for peace in the family and the world.
14 October 2005
A female wellness lecture, was assembled by traditional Chinese herbalist, Dr Lily, presenting useful
information regarding period pain, menstrual disorders, infertility, menopause etc. Dr Lily also
offered diagnosis during the event. Over 30 people attended this event.

Famous piano duets, Rolf-Peter Willie and Lina Yeh performed at the concert hall at QPAC.
GFCBWA was the co-organiser for this event.
30 October 2005
GFCBWA celebrated the anniversary and the music festival at Versace Hotel on the Gold Coast.
There were 14 tables bursting with VIPs and distinguished guests, including some representatives
from foreign affairs in Taiwan who travelled to the Gold Coast for this event, making this evening
more exceptional. Special thanks go to Eva Air, for sponsoring Brisbane/Taipei return tickets for the
raffle prize. In addition, the Hour Glass offered over 60 presents for raffle prizes. All the guests were
happy because they all received great gifts.

The new immigrant business lecture happened offering information and support for Queensland
medium, small business and new immigrants to start exporting business. All the relevant policies
and measures were included in promoting export business, and work, health and safety regulations,
which you need to know to start a business in Queensland. There were around 209 people who
were present at this lecture.
12-13 November 2005
The women’s business skills training course included 15 members from GFCBWA for this two day
training programme, organised by the multi-cultural community expanding centre from Sunshine
Coast University. The programme covered:
• Choosing the right marketing.
• Improving customer service.
• Effective communication.
• Occupational health and safety.
• Staff recruitment and training.

A Chopard products launch party by The Hour Glass, was held with around 50 members from
GFCBWA.

A new yoga class started and is held every Thursday at 10:00 am.
