Music without Borders is a charity concert, supported by our members, over 500 people joined this
charity concert, despite the cold weather.

The pretty and hot ladies painting class from the GFCBWA’s women’s empowerment series, held a
joint art exhibition with avant-garde artist, Mr. Liu Songlin at the Robina Art Gallery. All the hard
work paid off.
6 September 2006
Let’s Sing! The new singing lessons started and would be held every Tuesday. Training and lead
was by Miss Jia Qunying (嘉群英). You can learn how to sing and choose the right songs to
perform.

Tai-Chi guided 24 form and dance and healthy exercise routines started and instructed by Miss
Wang Yumei (王玉梅).

Gucci celebrated its 85 anniversary and new products launch party. There were over 40 GFCBWA

members who attended.
20 October 2006
The double anniversary and mid-autumn festival charity dinner party was held at Southport Sharks
club. Over 24 tables were full of VIP guests, with great prizes, and entertainment. The atmosphere
was high and buzzing. Together we have raised $10,000 for charity groups; the breast cancer
foundation, cancer patients palliative care centre, and the orphanage. These acts of kindness have
shown the love and care from the Chinses ladies community on the Gold Coast.
5 November 2006
The first term, second members general assembly combined with the pink celebration party was
held at the Holiday Inn Hotel. There were nine tables of supportive members and friends, dressed in
pink, or wearing pink accessories to show support for the breast cancer pink ribbon day! There were
10 people selected for the prize of best dressed.
26 November 2006
The matchmaker club, looking for true love party was held at the Broadbeach community centre.
More than 30 people participated in this event, hoping to find his/her true love.

The Mountain and Ocean Dance festival, was held with a Taiwanese original Indigenous dance
series. GFCBWA supports the Taiwanese Indigenous cultural and art troupe tour in Australia.

The co-host Chinese New Year dinner party at Top One Chinese restaurant with NTD (New Tang
Dynasty Television) farewell the year of Dog, and welcomed the year of the Golden Pig. There were
11 tables of VIP guests, delicious Chinese cousins, fine wine, a Chinese Kung-Fu demonstration,
the traditional lion dance and raffle etc. Celebrating the Chinese New Year together.
