12 February 2006
The Chinese New Year and Lantern festival party was held with VIP Guests, including the secretary
for overseas Chinese affairs, Miss Yoyo Dong (董幼文), and the former Mayor and Mayoress of the
Gold Coast. Over 100 local Chinese/Taiwanese community members attended and performed
ballet, street dance, violin, and traditional Chinese music etc. Plus a raffle, a riddle guessing
competition, with awards for winners. It was an exciting party for everyone.

Celebrating Valentine’s Day! To love is to share the health/wellness with loved ones. Yang style 88
Tai-Chi class started.
29 March 2006
A new products launch party by Louis Vuitton was conducted with around 80 GFCBWA members
attending.

The seven habits of highly effective people and how to live a Wonderful life was an informative
lecture, presented by Miss Yao Shuhu i(姚淑惠).
7 April 2006
The golf friendship tournament and welcome lunch party occurred with Director General, Mr. James
Tian from the Taiwan Economic and Cultural office in Brisbane. The golf tournament was held at
Robina and the welcome lunch party was at a local famous Chinese restaurant; over 40 members
attended.
15 April 2006
A western dinning etiquette class, was presented by Miss Chen Yuru (陳育如). This event was held
at the steak house restaurant; over 40 members participated.
2 May 2006
New dance class started incorporating five elements of dance, a special dance routine combining
western and eastern philosophy and movement, and utilising the five elements (water, fire, wood,
gold, earth) and four seasons to promote healing, with therapeutic effect. There were 12 members
signed up for this dance class by Miss Ma Lomay 馬若梅..
13-21 May 2006
Celebrating Mother’s Day, saw the second hand boutique charity sales tea party ensue. The event
raised in the vicinity of $3,000 for charity.
31 May 2006
Celebrating the Dragon Boat Festival Zongzi making event, where over 50 members learned how to
make Zongzi, and eat the yummy Zongzi together. A very enjoyable day!
5 July2006
A special concert tour by Zhonghe Ziushan elementary school (中和秀山小學) wind band transpired.
This concert was performed at the Gold Coast Art Centre, with over 400 guests attending.
