Although the OLC will ideally consist of both Learning Coaches and Wellness Coaches, it is recognized
that these theoretical domains possess a high degree of overlap. Development in one domain will
necessarily involve cross domain activity for the learner. Additionally, when learner enrollments are
insufficient to warrant both a Learning Coach(s) and a Wellness Coach(s) in a single Learner Community,

these roles will be accomplished by a single coach. For these reasons, there will be a high degree of
cross domain training for all coaches.

The work of both the Learning Coach and the Wellness Coach will focus on areas represented in the
Skills and Dispositions domains. However, the primary focus of the Wellness Coach will be in areas that
most directly influence the affective and social development. The OLC model provides for the subject
content of the Knowledge domain to be provided via virtual/online methods while the Learning Coach
and Wellness Coach help to nurture Learners’ skills and dispositions while holding Learners accountable
