Learning Coaches

The Orbis Learning Coaches will be highly
skilled educators who have significant
experience as a classroom educator, have
shown themselves to value life-long
learning through graduate degrees or
other demonstrations, and are
participating in ongoing training in the science of learning, adolescent behaviors, and learning
technology. To ensure the continued effectiveness of the Learning Coach, OLC will provide monthly
professional learning opportunities and require participation as a condition of employment.

Wellness Coaches

The Wellness Coaches will be highly skilled educators who provide guidance about college and career
choices, community engagement, personal responsibility, and civic readiness. They will have significant
experience as a school or college guidance professional,
career counselor, or personal counselor. The Wellness Coach
will also be committed to the pursuit of a well-adjusted and
productive life and will maintain currency on all areas of

responsibility, including any professional licensure. To ensure
their continued effectiveness, OLC will provide regular
professional learning opportunities and require participation
as a condition of employment.

Coach Training
The OLC Learning Coach and Wellness Coach training will use as its foundation the Learning Domains
identified in the Education Reimagined Vision; Knowledge, Skills, and Dispositions. Although this

theoretical framework of learning is well researched
and embraced, it is also understood that research
and experience will continue to inform our
understanding. Therefore, using this framework as
the foundation for training does not preclude
additional theoretical perspectives to inform the
training program.
