How a club can participate in Heart 2 Heart: Heart 2 Heart welcomes all clubs from any
and all districts to be a partner in Heart 2 Heart. All the club has to do is to financially
participate, at any level. We recommend the following minimum contribution:
$100 or more for a global grant project
$150 or more for a non-global grant project
Clubs who contribute $500 or more for Heart 2 Heart will become members of the “Mexico
Century Club”. As we near the 100 year anniversary of Rotary in Mexico in April 2021, the
Heart 2 Heart partners have created the Mexico Century Club as a way to get new partner
clubs interested in Mexico service in Districts 4170 and 4140, to ask existing and new
partner clubs to help us for projects that do not fit into grants and are too big for most clubs
to consider on their own, and to help get all clubs into global grants. The plan is to gather
support from at least 150 clubs to contribute $500 (or more) annually for projects and
global grants.
All clubs are still encouraged to contribute at a lesser amount if that is what they can do,
they just will not be recognized as a Mexico Century Club (MCC).
The first year's projects would be to help fund the addition of a community center space in
the Toluca school that we have recently supported, to do work in D4140 (school
renovations and used fire trucks), for used ambulances for both districts, and to support
our wheelchair program partnership with World Access Project Inc.
The logistics of being a partner in the Heart 2 Heart program
Districts who wish to participate through DDF contributions should contact Ron Appuhn
via e-mail. No paperwork, no hassles, no extra meetings. Contributions are entered into
each grant for each participating district.
Clubs can participate by sending a check made payable to “Rotary District 6780” with a
notation of “Heart 2 Heart”. Checks should be mailed to Ron Appuhn at his new home
address below. The club should indicate how the contribution should be allocated and
should also include the Rotary club number on the check. All clubs are welcome to join
and are considered partners in all the projects, regardless of the size of contributions. No
paperwork, no hassles, no extra meetings. Yes, it is that easy to be a partner in Heart 2
Heart.
Individuals who wish to contribute to a global grant project or a non-global grant project
should directly contact either Ron Appuhn or the Heart 2 Heart advocate in their district for
consultation on the payment options that best meet the needs of the individual donor.
Any questions concerning logistics can be addressed to Ron Appuhn via e-mail or phone.
