strug gles. By His word, it hap pened that peo ple com ing from
dif fer ent cit ies and com mu ni ties, and even mu tu al en e mies,
came to geth er to work for a com mon goal and to win Allah's
ap prov al. In many vers es, Allah stated the good news of His
help and sup port for all de vout be liev ers:
If they in tend to de ceive you, Allah is enough for you. He
sup port ed you with His help and with the be liev ers, and
uni fied their hearts. Even if you had spent ev ery thing on
Earth, you could not have uni fied their hearts. But Allah
has uni fied them. He is Almighty, All-Wise. O Prophet,
Allah is enough for you and for the be liev ers who fol low
you. (Surat al-Anfal: 62-64)

With Allah's help, our Prophet (saas) and the be liev ers, de -
spite their weak ness, de feat ed nu mer ous ar mies of the un be -
liev ers. Despite the Meccans' nu mer i cal strength and tech ni cal
ad van ta ges, Allah en a bled the be liev ers to rout them.
Allah grant ed an oth er mir a cle dur ing this event:

O Prophet, spur on the be liev ers to fight. If there are twen -
ty of you who are stead fast, they will over come two hun -
dred; and if there are a hun dred of you [who are stead fast],
they will over come a thou sand of those who are un be liev -
ers be cause they are peo ple who do not un der stand. Now
Allah has made it light er on you, know ing there is weak -
ness in you. If there are a hun dred of you who are stead fast,
they will over come two hun dred; and if there are a thou -
sand of you [who are stead fast], they will over come two
thou sand with Allah's per mis sion. Allah is with the stead -
fast. (Surat al-Anfal: 65-66)
