Ha run Yah ya (Ad nan Ok tar)
Stubbornly they turned their backs on You, be came stiff-
necked and re fused to lis ten. (Nehemiah, 9:29)
... [They] bind them selves with a curse and an oath to fol low
the Law of God giv en through Moses the ser vant of God and
to obey care ful ly all the com mands, reg u la tions and de crees
of the Lord our Lord. (Nehemiah, 10:29)
... We have not obeyed the Lord our God or kept the laws He
gave us through His ser vants the Prophets... has trans gressed
Your law and turned away, re fus ing to obey You. "Therefore
the curs es and sworn judg ments writ ten in the Law of Moses,
the ser vant of God, have been poured out on us, be cause we
have sinned against You. You have ful filled the words spo ken
against us and against our rul ers by bring ing up on us great
dis as ter... Just as it is writ ten in the Law of Moses, all this dis -
as ter has come up on us, yet we have not sought the fa vor of
the Lord our God by turn ing from our sins and giv ing at ten -
tion to Your truth." (Daniel, 9:10-13)
This is what the Lord says: "... I will not turn back [My wrath].
Because they have re ject ed the law of the Lord and have not
kept His de crees, be cause they have been led astray by false
gods, the gods their an ces tors fol lowed." (Amos, 2:4)
Heeding the Conscience
I will main tain my right eous ness and nev er let go of it; my
con science will not re proach me as long as I live. (Job, 27:6)
I will praise the Lord, Who coun sels me; even at night my
heart in structs me. (Psalms, 16:7)
