                ... God... has made you king, to main tain jus tice and right -
                eous ness. (1 Kings, 10:9)


                ... David reigned... and he ex e cut ed jus tice and right eous ness
                un to all his peo ple. (1 Chronicles, 18:14)

                Since it was cus tom a ry for the king to con sult ex perts in mat -
                ters of law and jus tice, he spoke with the wise men who un -
                der stood the times. (Esther, 1:13)


                I put on right eous ness as my cloth ing; jus tice was my robe
                and my tur ban. I was eyes to the blind and feet to the lame. I
                was a fa ther to the needy; I took up the case of the stranger.
                (Job, 29:14-16)

                It is not on ly the old who are wise, not on ly the aged who un -
                der stand what is right. (Job, 32:9)

                ... You have asked for dis cern ment in ad min is ter ing jus tice,

                I will do what you have asked... (1 Kings, 3:11-12)

                But with right eous ness he will judge the needy, with jus tice
                he will give de ci sions for the poor of the earth. He will strike
                the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips
                he will slay the wick ed. Righteousness will be his belt and
                faith ful ness the sash around his waist. (Isaiah, 11:4-5)


                In love a throne will be es tab lished; in faith ful ness a man will
                sit on it... one who in judg ing seeks jus tice and speeds the
                cause of right eous ness. (Isaiah, 16: 5)

                See, a king will reign in right eous ness and rul ers will rule
                with jus tice... Justice will dwell in the desert and right eous -
                ness live in the fer tile field. The fruit of right eous ness will be
