WISDOM AND SOUND ADVICE FROM THE TORAH

And God said, "Let the water under the sky be
gather ed to one place, and let dry ground ap-
pear." And it was so. God called the dry ground
"land," and the gath ered wa ters He called
"seas"... (Genesis, 1:9-10)

Thus the heav ens and the earth were com plet -
ed in all their vast ar ray. (Genesis, 2:1)

Praise the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, You

are very great; are clothed with splen dor and
maj es ty... He set the earth on its foun da tions; it
can nev er be moved. (Psalms, 104:1, 5)

The Creation of Light

And God said, "Let there be light," and there
was light... He sep a rat ed the light from the
