21) THE OCCURANCE OF GREAT AND ASTONISH-
ING EVENTS
Great phe nom e na will hap pen in his time.

So many appall ing inci dents will occur in his time.

The signs of his emer gence resem ble those pre par a to -
ry signs that ear li er gave an indi ca tion of our Allah's
Messenger.

Great and extraor di na ry events pre ced ed Prophet
Mohammed's (saas) birth. For exam ple, a new star rose
on that night, 14 tow ers of the Iranian emper or's pal -
ace col lapsed, the Magians' (fire wor ship pers') sacred
fire that had burned for 1,000 years in Iran went out,
the Semavi Valley was flood ed, and the Save Lake dried
up. As indi cat ed in the had iths above, the Mahdi's
emer gence will also be marked by great and mirac u -
lous phe nom e na.
Some of the remark a ble phe nom e na that took place
dur ing the twen ti eth cen tu ry are as fol lows:
- The Ka'bah was raid ed, and many Muslims were
killed,
- The 2,500-year-old Iranian mon ar chy col lapsed, and
Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi fled and died in exile,
