24) AN INCREASE IN THE NUMBER
OF EARTHQUAKES
Doomsday will not come until earth quakes mul ti ply,
strife appears, and mur ders increase.

Our Prophet (saas) stat ed in the above had ith that
"a rise in the num ber of earth quakes" will be a sign that
the End Times is nigh. Indeed, the twen ti eth cen tu ry
went down in his to ry as one in which many thou sands
of peo ple lost their lives in earth quakes. The dev as tat -
ing earth quake in Kobe (Japan), and those that fol lowed
one after the other in Turkey, Taiwan, Greece, and
Mexico, are impor tant signs.
There will be earth quakes in my com mu ni ty. Ten thou -
sand, twen ty thou sand, thir ty thou sand peo ple will die.
Allah will make this a coun sel for the taqwa, a mercy on
believ ers and a suf fer ing for unbe liev ers.
