Carry stretchers, tools and other objects
horizontally. Never carry equipment
upright or over the shoulder. Carry long
objects between two people. Approach
helicopter with hand tools at waist
height and crouch slightly when walking
below the main rotor disk. Place tools
gently in aircraft.

If blinded by dust, STOP, cover eyes and crouch
down with your back to the helicopter.
Don’t rush, take time to think and observe.

Remember a helicopter can move in all directions.
Avoid helicopter exhausts as temperatures can
exceed 700 degrees C.
10 Look after your own gear and be ready to board
when directed to do so.
