The Eastern By-Pass Road / the Southern By-Pass Road / A40 and A34 together form a ring road
around the outskirts of Oxford.
Make your way to that ring road and follow it to its south west corner where the Southern By-Pass
connects with the A34.
If you are coming off the Southern By-Pass you’ll take the 1st exit from the r/bout s/p “M4 /
Newbury / Abingdon”
If you are already travelling south on the A34, continue str. ahd following a sign to “Newbury A34”.

Side trip to Highclere Castle.

Follow the brown and white signs to Highclere Castle.

To continue on towards Salisbury, cross back over the bridge that brought you in here, turn r. and
about 1 mile later merge on to the A34.
