KPI 5 | FUNDRAISE INITIATIVES

With travel restrictions in place no formal visits were possible during this report period. However, digital meetings
were held with numerous NGO’s looking to partner with Karingani on community development projects - ‘Give power’
for solar water pumping systems and micro-grid development; and ‘Oak foundation’ for skills and development
               projects.

ACCF and Tusk have been waiting for post-COVID-19 travel to ease, in order to visit Karingani and establish
               opportunities to collaborate.
Four members from the Karingani counter poaching force, Frenque Manhique, Capitine Nelson Machuza, Nelton
Pascoal Zunguze and Horacio Mahunguane competed against rangers from 20 African countries in September 2020
to raise money to support the men and women across Africa’s protected areas.

The team competed in both physical and knowledge-based challenges finishing the challenge with a 21 km run
carrying 22 kg in their backpacks. Team Karingani finished the run in 3 hours and 5 minutes and raised $950 USD
through the JustGiving fundraising page set up for the team. Karingani also hosted a 5 km fun run/walk at our Mbilu
Headquarters for staff members and family to show their support for the rangers competing in the challenge.

KPI 6 | URBANISATION IMPACT AND PLANNING

Still in development and fundraising stage, the Milton Group has formed a partnership with the UN and Peace Parks
to commence with a proof of concept predictive planning study to incorporate Karingani and the local communities
surrounding Karingani, within a study area that includes the Greater Limpopo Conservation Transfrontier Area. This
initiative continues to seek funding and the objective is to secure an initial set of results to be published in future
               reports.

This proof of concept study is anticipated to become the baseline for land use mapping and zoning that in its first
phase can be adopted by all SADAC member countries sponsored for regulatory and legal adoption by the United
               Nations Africa Urbanization division.
