Holloway produced a lovely piece of skill down the left and fired in a cross which Magill
headed wide of the post.
Magill got her hat-trick moments later, however, when the goalkeeper’s kick-out went
straight to the striker and she swept the ball past her.
Substitute Kelsie Burrows scooped a shot wide before another Northern Ireland sub,
Caragh Hamilton, pulled the ball back to Wade but she fired over the top.
Then another sub, Nadene Caldwell, let fly inside the area only to see her rasping effort
palmed away by the North Macedonia keeper.
Magill made it 10-0 as full-time approached. Northern Ireland keeper Jackie Burns
punted the ball forward and it evaded the home defence, however Magill nipped in behind them
and cleverly lobbed the keeper.
Holloway got the goal that her overall performance deserved when she netted number
11 in added time, tucking the ball in from six yards out to complete the memorable rout.
Now Shiels’ side will turn their attention to the second FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023
qualifier against North Macedonia at Seaview on Monday, a game they will be expected to win.

Ashford prepare for Oxford examination
Ashford Town (Middlesex) are having a superb season to date in the London & South East
League and this Sunday, they take a break from their title challenge to take on Oxford United in
the Vitality Women’s FA Cup Second Round.
Both teams will go into the game in excellent form with Ashford unbeaten in all their
matches so far this season, and their assistant coach Matthew Aumeeruddy told Women’s
Soccer Scene that they are relishing the chance to play against one of the top teams in the
FAWNL.
“It is no doubt going to be a monumental challenge for us as a team,” he said. “They
[Oxford] are a very good tier 3 team that will have ambitions on promotion to the FA Women’s
Championship. They will be well organised in all phases of the game and have players that are
very capable in all areas of the pitch.
“But we approach it with a positive mindset, we know they have some strong players who
can be effective on their day, but we focus on ourselves and how we can best impact the game.
“The FA Cup is always a special competition to be involved in due to the prestige that it
holds. We are proud of the run we have been on in this competition and will certainly be giving
our all on Sunday.”
Midfielder Chloe Farrell added: “So far this season has been one of the best yet. As a
team we have bonded very well on and off the pitch and our performance is going from strength
to strength.
“This is the first time the club has made it to the Second Round of the FA Cup and we are
excited to continue our fantastic run!”
