that should be interesting. I’m feeling a little sleepy but here
comes dinner (chicken w/apple sauce dressing). There is a
baby screaming a few rows back but there are nuns on board so
I’m sure we’ll get special celestial attention. Baby eventually
quiets down.
They have little cardboard boxes on a bulkhead shelf for the
little ones to sleep in. The guy next to M is becoming quite a
problem. He is scratching his arms, head and back at first
through his shirt and then reaching inside. YUCK!!!
Is it bugs? Will they jump on M? I suggest that maybe it’s a
nervous condition but it gets worse and drops of blood began to
dot his white shirt from his incessant digging.
Day 1 in Ireland – June 9th
On Sunday, June 9 , we get off the plane…Thank God. We
th
hope we have no uninvited guests. After much delay (the Irish
don’t hurry) we get a rental car. I’m driving and the car is sort
of a pooch (Nissan Sunny
automatic). Well, driving on the
left is a real deal. It’s fine on the
highway but narrow roads are a
real thrill and of course we have
to do a lot of back tracking
looking for the Clare Inn. When
we finally get there it was a big
hotel on top of a grassy hill that
doubled as a golf course. The weather is not nice! It is
blustery, rainy and cold. I snap a shot of flags and we have a
