plan. We drive slowly – compared to the Irish drivers. We go
thru Ennis to
Galway. We
stop several
times so I
can take
photos in the
rain. There
is a white
cottage with
a red door
and a
massive
caved in
thatched roof. I finish up my first roll of film (Fuji 100) after
only one shot. M hasn’t put film in her camera yet and seems
pretty tired so we got on. We pass another fallen down house
with grass growing on the top of the walls and then one that
had a blue door comes into view. It is a
thatched roofed one. M says that last
time she was here she didn’t see any
thatched roofed houses except the
renovated tourist trap ones.
M expresses the desire for a pit stop and
I see a sign for a Craft Market and whip
the car down a narrow lane. We
realized we are going the wrong way but
when I pull into a wide spot in the road
to turn about, I spy some cows and
catch a glimpse of a castle behind them.
