TIME OFF AND LEAVES OF ABSENCE
COMPANY PAID HOLIDAYS
Full-time exempt and non-exempt personnel receive paid holidays when the holiday falls on a day of
the week when the employee is regularly scheduled to work. When a holiday falls within a vacation
leave or sick leave period, the employee will receive the holiday hours for the specific day observed.
Full-time employees receive full pay for holidays consistent with the agreed upon scheduled work
hours.
Police FCU typically observes the following federal government holidays:
New Year’s Day Labor Day
Martin Luther King Jr. Day Columbus Day
President’s Day Veteran’s Day
Memorial Day Thanksgiving Day
Independence Day Christmas Day
The President/CEO may authorize additional holidays.
Police FCU respects the religious beliefs of its employees. Members of applicable religious groups may
take religious holidays not on Police FCU’s holiday calendar as accrued vacation days. Leave Request
forms must be completed in accordance with procedures for requesting and approving vacation
leave.
VACATION ACCRUAL
To express the value of an experienced Police FCU workforce for our organization and to the support
of our members, we have an incremental accrual schedule starting with our 4 hours of annual leave
accrued per pay period, increasing up to 8 hours per pay period. Vacation is earned at the end of the
pay period and will not be advanced.
Police FCU has high expectations regarding the standards of excellence of all employees and as an
employee’s experience increases, those expectations rise as well. Our goal is to regularly hire and
retain top level individuals so we can collectively achieve our objectives for the Membership. We
believe that this is a rather aggressive annual leave program which continues to include the
opportunity to build your annual leave balance while also providing the option to sell-back annual
leave at various periods during the year.
