Undergraduate Coursework
Reimbursement for all undergraduate level courses will be made after satisfactory completion of the
course with a grade “C” or better. At the employee’s request, reimbursement may be made at the
beginning of the course if the employee authorizes a payroll deduction in the amount of the
reimbursement to be used only if the employee does not achieve a “C” grade or better, does not
complete the course or terminates employment before completing the course.
Required undergraduate textbooks for undergraduate pursuits will be covered at 100 percent, with
documented paid receipts. For accredited colleges offering accelerated programs, Police FCU will
only reimburse for three courses per calendar year, not to exceed three credit hours per course.
Graduate Coursework
Reimbursement for all graduate level courses will be made after satisfactory completion of the course
with a “B” or better. At the employee’s request, reimbursement may be made at the beginning of
the course if the employee authorizes a payroll deduction in the amount of the reimbursement to be
used only if the employee does not achieve a “B” or better, does not complete the course or
terminates employment before completing the course.
Required textbooks for graduate pursuits will be covered at 50 percent, with documented paid
receipts. For accredited colleges offering accelerated programs, the Credit Union will only reimburse
for three courses per calendar year, not to exceed three credit hours per course.
Approval and Reimbursement Procedure
All full-time eligible employees seeking financial assistance may request an Educational Authorization
and Reimbursement Plan Agreement from Human Resources.
The form must be completed and presented to the immediate supervisor for his/her approval along
with the following documentation:
a. Course Schedule
b. Course Overview
c. Required course book(s) and cost
d. Copy of applicable semester course credit fees
e. A signed copy of Educational Assistance Reimbursement Agreement
The employee’s Supervisor shall review the request to determine if it meets the Credit Union’s
Educational Assistance Policy & Reimbursement Plan guidelines. This agreement shall be made
between the employee and the Police FCU whereby if the employee terminates employment prior to
six months following the completion of an undergraduate degree and 12 months following the
completion of a graduate degree the employee agrees to reimburse the Credit Union the total tuition
amount for the last course completed and paid for by Police FCU plus related textbook amounts.
