THE BiTS INTERVIEW: Pat Fulgoni
.
Pat Fulgoni is an experienced singer from Yorkshire, U.K. with the sort
of vocal power one associates with the likes of Free's Paul Rogers,
combined with a soulful feel. He is finding his feet as a blues singer
but in so doing has sung practically every kind of popular music
including d’n’b and house.
His new album “The Pat Fulgoni Blues Experience” is making waves.
Ian McKenzie spoke to him on the telephone at his home in Halifax.
PF: Hello.
BiTS: Hello, Pat. It’s Ian McKenzie.
PF: Hiya. How you doing?
BiTS: I'm doing very well indeed,
thank you. Thank you very much
indeed for agreeing to this
interview. I hope you're
comfortable in the car.
PF: Yeah, yeah [chuckles], it's
better this way than hearing loads
of like guitar solos and whatnot.
BiTS: That's terrific. Let me tell
you what I want to do. I want to
talk to you about yourself, your
background and all the rest of it,
and then a bit more about the
album. Just before we start though,
I guess you're doing rehearsals for
the opening night for the album.
PF: Yeah, well, actually, this
weekend I've got two quite
interesting gigs. I've been asked to
sing some Champion Jack Dupree
tracks because he used to live near me in Halifax.
BiTS: He did indeed. I just did an interview, just a few days ago, with Kenn Lending,
who he performed with for a long time.
